PRE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: * To complete a successful pre-entry flight test by the Instructor * Be 18 years or over * Hold a valid medical * Hold the licence for the type of helicopter which the instruction is to be given * Completed a minimum of 15 hours on the helicopter on which the instruction is to be given * Completed 250 hours flight time as pilot of helicopters, of which * A minimum of 100 hours PIC, if the applicant holds a CPL H or * A minimum of 200 hours PIC, if the applicant holds a PPL H & has the the CPL theory requirements * Have at least 10 hours Instrument flight instruction on the appropriate helicopter & a minimum of 20 hours cross country flight time as PIC
COURSE DETAIL * 125 hours of theoretical knowledge. Including instruction, self study and progress tests * 30 hours flight time of which 5 hours can be “mutual" flying with another student * Assessment of Competence with our Flight Instructor Examiner THE ASSESSMENT OF COMPETENCE At the end of the course the student will be tested by a Flight Instructor Examiner - FIE. The Assessment of Competence involves * Preparing & presenting a lecture on a specific subject, chosen by the examiner (The subject will be given at least one day prior to the test) * Give a pre-flight briefing to the FIE * Conduct the flight exercise an an Instructor, while the FIE acts as student * Demonstrate general flight skills to the FIE
